Louisa County Historical Society Awarded $25,500 in Grant Funding

The Louisa County Historical Society is  pleased to announce that we have received funding to assist with  "Representing Our Residents," our ongoing oral history initiative to  increase representation of Louisa County residents in our archive.

The Louisa County Historical Society is grateful for grants totaling $25,500 from the following organizations:

  • the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s Power of Change Grant,
  • the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation Louisa County Fund,
  • Virginia Humanities,
  • and the Virginia Museum of History & Culture.

These funds allow us to continue oral  history collection, broaden outreach programs, digitize and make  available oral histories already recorded, and increase the awareness  for preserving all stories, particularly those underrepresented, in our Louisa community.
